FileType Verificator is a handy utility that allows you to determine a file's type. The program determines a file's type using its content, but not its extension. And, because of it, the quantity of the recognized files is limited. Besides, you can see common properties of the selected file (name, file size, date created, last accessed, opened with and so on). Also the program can show content of some files' types. The program can recognize a lot of formats, such as documents, graphic formats (bmp, png, jpeg, tiff, wpg, psd and others), multimedia files (wav, ani, avi, swf, wma, mpg, mp3 and others), archives (rar, zip, cab, ace, wad and others), databases (dbf, mdb), Linux/Unix and many other types of files (you can see it in the Help menu). Moreover, you can highlight the recognized and other files and show file type icons. Also it is possible to rename the selected files. FileType Verificator includes the possibility to add external plug-ins for files' types verification. You can see this function in Tools-Plug-ins menu. If the plug-in is not ticked it won't be used for verification. |
